Yep! I applied for an Austin Film Society grant 3 years in a row during various stages of STUCK's process and was rejected every time. Thank you AFS-- and other granting orgs-- for those rejections. It really galvanized me and made me think more creatively about how to get where we needed to go. Letting go of the power that the big orgs that "we should go to to get money" or be a part of has helped me realize how powerful we actually are when we are doing the right things for who we are.
This one talks all about how I ended up fundraising for STUCK in spite of all the "no's" and "you can't possibly make this happens". It's about resilience, adaptation, and listening to your intuition- and following through on what you hear.
