Welcome! I'm so glad you joined us on this experimental journey! When I was diagnosed with rectal cancer, I very quickly had to pivot how The Confessions of an Aging Ingenue Interactive Companion Guide was going to find its audience. Gone were the guest appearances, virtual book club, and 6-month mentorship programs. A pivot was required- and there's nothing that I am better at than the pivot!
My first action was to visit local stores to get it placed there. One owner needed an artist in residence for the First Saturday Art Walk- which was two days away- and I said “yes! That will work!” Attendance was sparse, but one woman purchased the Guide and the goodie bag as a birthday present for a friend who had just left neonatal nursing and was in transition. Perfect! While talking with my business coach about the new situation, I told her I could just take the book to the hospital or treatment center and hand them out:) As we were talking an even cooler idea evolved- sending the book out as a chain letter! As a kid I loved the idea of messages in bottles, chain letters, and pen pals so this idea really gets me stoked! A few days later it all came together- and that's why you're here, so let's get to it!
